If you are self-publishing, this is the best investment you can make. if you have already gone through multiple drafts and you're almost ready for publication, you need a proofreader. I will correct errors in spelling, punctuation, grammar, formatting, and other typo fairy tracks.

Kay was great to work with. Firstly she paid attention to the subtle difference in language (UK vs USA) and how the tone of the document would be. When it came to the editing she was quick and meticulous, spotting mistakes and making suggestions I never would have thought of.
Overall a friendly and professional editor who I will be using again in the future.

I really enjoy working with Kay. She is professional, proficient, punctual, pragmatic - basically perfect. I highly recommend her as a copy and developmental editor.

You want your work to be accurate, clear, and engaging. If you choose a copy edit, I will not only check spelling, grammar, and punctuation, but also streamline prose for clarity, flow, and readability. I'll look at verb tense usage, sentence structure, and dialogue, as well as check facts, place names, timelines, and jargon. Problem areas are flagged with suggestions (not rewrites) on how to resolve the issues. I will also include a summary of the changes and suggestions.
